Christmas Day / The Day I Became Mrs

25.12.13

It may be Christmas for most of you
But 2013 Christmas to me is totally unforgettable.
It is a day I change my status from S to M

I am OFFICIALLY MARRIED on that day!

I was not a ordinary Solmenization where Tea Dress or White gown were worn.
The Hubz <3 the Japanese Culture therefore a Japanese Theme was set for us!!

We spend weeks and months to think of what to do, how it will be and the location.

Went to a look for Wedding planner but it was was beyond our ROM budget.  Fell in love with the Japanese Restaurant at Pan Pac but was overly costly.
That period was quite disheartening as it was the first time planning and sourcing location but unable to get the perfect fit.

I stopped finding for a while and came across Oasia Hotel's website.

Was quite relactant actually and I am actually quite "Ban Tang" because it is surrounded by hospitals and specialist centers (Building sharing with Novena Specialist Center).  Send them an email and got a reply.

Their pricing was relatively good for Buffet.  Set an appointment and met up with Dennis.
went to Take a look at their Pool Area and the Courtyard.
Fell in Love with the Courtyard atmostphere almost immediately. (Hubz like it alot too)

We then went back and both said to set on the venue.

Following that we went to source for the next important thing.
The OUTFIT - Kimono
We found a Kimono rental store and went down to take a look.  That is actually 1 of the few and pricing was fine. As for my makeup, we were recommended buy the Kimono rental to try the shop just beside hers.

Things went smoothly after, got my Videographer, Ben from Hwee Studio and Photography, Apple from Petite Story

1 Month before the actual day we went to choose the gown and I was spoilt for choices!!
So many beautiful Kimono to choose from!! At last i chose 1 which I did not regret.

On 24th December, Hubz and I were so busy preparing for last min things and we slept at about 3am.

Woke up at 8am and went over to Oasia for Check-In and Lunch.

The actual work starts at 12pm where the Videographer, Photographer arrives and follow by my Makeup Artist, Fanny and the owner of the Kimono Shop, Mari san.

Went ahead to do my Makeup first
Fanny drying up my after shower wet hair

My Blood Sister and Mari-San in the back ground
The Hubz preparing as well doing his own hair, and of course our outfit
While I am doing my makeup, Mari-San was dressing the Hubz.

No Sky High Heels for the Bride to Be but a pair of Oriental Japanese Gold slippers
Done with Hair and Makeup, now is my turn to dress up.
What you see here is already the 2nd layer.
I will be wearing a total of 3 layers but thats not all. I am being Bind on my waist at least 7-8 times TIGHT!!

What attracted me was this crane and the blue background.  I can't get my eyes off it

Now will be the Beautiful Ribbon behind.
Tied with 1 piece of LLLOOOONNNGGGG cloth
Hair accesories provided by Mari-San
The Beautiful nails my Jane
I love Lilo and Stitch.  The Hubz used a Huge Stitch Mascot to propose.
How can I leave Stitch out of my Solemnization!?
So Stitch and Angel became my Ring Holder =)
I was craking my head what to give to my guest which will show my sincerity.
Not wanting to just buy off Ebay or Taobao and I want something Special on the Special day with a Special Theme.

I handmade Origami Cranes. The Hubz was in charge to cut the Origami papers 1inch by 1inch and i folded them.  A pair was given to each guest. Crane Symbolizes Long-life, Peace, Good Luck and Happiness.
Hubz then inserted it into the bottle with Glitters and sand.

Our Flowers balls arranged around the Courtyard

The March in with the kids holding Lilo and Stitch
Lucky us, we manage to get the super Popular Dr Phua Tan Tee.
I must say he is really good in entertaining the crowd.
Super fatherly feel and cheerful.
The crowd was laughing non-stop.

My Little Niece

Honestly, I totally had no appetite the whole time.
After the whole event and everyone left, I went back to my room and the first thing was to get my friend to un-tie the endless bindings.

Shortly after I un-tie, my stomach started Growling. Ordered In-Room Dining as I was extremely tired and lazy.

So, I am now officially Mrs Chua.

The next thing I have to start soon will be to plan for my Actual Day.
Mandarin Oriental? Marina Mandarin? Carlton? OMG!! I want somewhere that serves Good Food!!

Someone.. Please help!!

  1. Hi,
Me and my fiancé is planning to do a rom at oasia hotel too. We came across your blog post and there is some question we would like to ask you guys. Hope you don’t mind assisting us.
Would like to ask. The food portion is it more than enough for the number of pax cater for. Or can I cut down in term of food budget. As this will lower my cost of per pax.
Thanks a lot. Appreciate your help
