Japanese Cuisine Tasting for my ROM

 

As recommended by a friend of mine,

my family and the BF went over to DOZO to try the food there.

 

Have been hunting Japanese Restaurants for my ROM.

 

When we reach, they are sweet enough to give us a private room.

(I told them I am there to celebrate Belated Father's Day)

 

I must say, the service there is good.

The service staffs knows their food well and is very patient in explaining.

 

As we are there the first time,

they explain to us right from the start of the menu.

Taste like Plum Juice / Lime Juice with crashed ice.

 

Starter: Chef Selection

Apparently there is a sequence to Savour this dish

You have to eat it from Middle, the Scallop, Right, the Foie Gras, Left, the Smoked Salmon

This dish is real tasty.

As per my mum, she said the soft shell crab was fresh and taste sweet.

My Beef Tenderloin on "Pu-Ye" and Granite Hot Stone

My comment: The meat is infused with the "Pu-Ye" and it is very tender.

you can choose how well u want it to be cooked as well.

At the side will be the Mustard Garlic sauce to go along.

Bf's comments: Too tender with no fats.  More like Normal Pork

Nice color. My mum drank it without stirring and it taste weird.

If you order this, remember to stir first.

Dad's comments: So so but red been too sweet.

 

My Parents do not enjoy really sweet things.

 

After our dessert, they brought in a cake to wish my Dad Belated Father's Day

and took a pic for us. 

 

Obviously my parents do not really enjoy the food there.

 

It is too fusion for our total liking.

 

So we head over to Newton to have more Decent food

where by my parents enjoy.

After trying out Dozo, Bf and I concluded that the place will be out for our ROM.

 

Though the atmosphere and service is really good,

but the ordering part is too tedious and the food is definitely not for

the older generation's liking.

 

I really hope someone can suggest a good location for Japanese restaurant to me

so that I can try and have my ROM there.

Penang Short Getaway

 

During the past long weekend for Vesak Day,

The BF and I went for a trip to Penang for some delicious FOOD.

 

(That the reason why I've been gaining weight)

 

After hearing good reviews on G Hotel, decided to book that.

 

Things went really wrong right when we arrive.

 

The airport transfer we requested did not turn up,

when we asked, we were told to take our own cab over and if we want to complaint, we can just write in an email. (I did right away on the way there, but till date, no reply from them)

 

When we reach to the hotel, we went to the counter (I was very frustrated) I asked the front desk about it but what I got in return is them pushing blames.

 

During then was about 1.30pm - 1.45pm, we are not allowed to check in as they said C/I is strictly after 2pm.

 

I double confirm with them that at 2pm we are able to get our keys and they said yes.

As I was so furious, once the clock strikes 2pm, I went to the counter to demand for keys and they said they will check for me. And ask me to continue waiting. (I know they are just buying time, I know the room is definitely not ready.  I just want to make things difficult for them and show them what is urgency.  Everyone at the counter gave that "I don't care look")

 

I waited till 2.15pm but still no one approach. So, I being a nasty customer went back to the counter to demand for my room again but I still do not get any rooms. All the way till 2.45 I think before I got 1 room. ( I booked for 2 rooms ).

 

They screw up my trip right from the start and do not feel apologetic at all.  They did not apologize at all for the whole incident beside pushing blame.

 

Being in hotel line before, at least some drinks voucher or food voucher for us to dine or rest while we wait but nothing.  Just 2 bottles of mineral water and ice cream, like the rest of the check in customer.

 

After we went in the 1 room we manage to get and change, we went down wanting to hire a car to bring us around.  Totally disappointed with the service, we didn't want to approach them any more and went to source for ourselves and we got to know this very nice and friendly uncle who brought us out to eat!!

First destination was the New World Park Food Court

1 word - Disappointing

Not worth talking about.

 

 

 

We then asked the uncle to bring us to the famous Chandol!!

 

There are 2 stalls but to which should you try,

its obvious with the non stop flow of orders

Finally the long wait... Seriously, the best I ate.

Uncle then brought us to the temples around to pray for good luck and good health.

 

 

 

 Back in hotel in the evening to collect our keys and spoke to the manager there,

Finally a get an apology from them.  they then wanted to provide a complementary transfer to the airport but we reject.  (Afraid it might screw up and miss the flight)

Queue was Mad long and we were hungry so went else where to get some food.

 



 

After the long wait, finally arrive.

Both the Fish and the Prawns taste sooo good...

Sweet and tender fish and juicy prawns...

You will ask for more.  But what I heard from my mum is that you can only have 1 prawn per pax.

Orh-Luek from across the stress came over to sell as well.

 

I didn't expect it to be good. But surprisingly, its quite nice.

Then went over to have Asam Laksa along the downhill of Kek Lok Si Temple.



Advise: Try not to see how they cook and the environment if you want to eat.

 

As for dinner, we went over to the Gurney Drive Hawker to eat.

This place is seriously super pack.

Waited for quite awhile before we found a table.

Headed straight to get the Apom first.

They only have 1 flavor though which is Banana

After that, back to hotel to rest. Long tiring day..

 

Uncle picked us up at about 12pm and brought us nearby the hotel for Bak Gut Teh

After everything, we head back to the hotel to collect our luggage and went to the airport for check in.

 

There goes my super short holiday.

 

When will be my next trip?

 

Hopefully will be during my bday to Taiwan Ming Su laidback relaxing stay....
